For the past 10 years, VitalSleep has been helping people sleep better with its signature Anti-Snoring Mouthpiece. Ninety-two percent of customers would recommend the product to people with snoring issues, and it has been featured in consumer and medical journals such as Popular Science, verywell Health, and by the American Sleep Association.
Though they’d wowed people who had used the product, VitalSleep wanted to connect more with shoppers in an abandoned browse state — people who were interested but hadn’t purchased yet.

THE PROBLEM
David Hernandez, the creator of VitalSleep, has built a great product to wide acclaim and much success, but as a sole proprietor, he’s not a graphic design specialist.
When he saw Grid & Pixel’s personalized, animated designs, he signed up for our beta program hoping to liven up and increase the performance of his abandoned browse emails.
THE SOLUTION
Grid & Pixel helped David create a graphic that employed three tactics:
- Eye-catching animation: Email Institute found that animations inside emails increase engagement by 26% on average.
- Customer personalization: Grid & Pixel helped VitalSleep incorporate elements like the contact’s name, a product photo of the item that the contact last viewed, and a link to the product page into a new hero graphic.
- A mood-setting background: Grid & Pixel used generative AI to create a mood-setting, starry night background, helping to bridge an emotional connection with the potential customer.

THE RESULTS
After a 30-day A/B test, the results showed Grid & Pixel delivered a home run for VitalSleep. The A (original) and B (Grid & Pixel) variants had relatively similar open rates, but the results further down the funnel were astounding:
- The B variant achieved a click rate of 9.1%, a 300% increase over the A variant’s click rate of 3.1%.
- The B variant achieved a 6.8% placed order rate, a 1,700% increase over the A variant’s placed order rate of 0.4%.
- The B variant generated 428% more revenue than the A variant.

Needless to say, VitalSleep immediately started adding more Grid & Pixel graphics to its flows.
